If you have already picked up your vehicle and wish to keep it longer; please contact Cars of America at 1-832-774-1004.

If you have not picked up your vehicle you can modify or cancel your reservation from the My account page. If you make a modification, it may result in a change to your rates, taxes, surcharges, or underage fees. Please check your updated rate quote when verifying your reservation.

If you cancel your reservation more than 24 Hours before your specified pick-up time, you will receive a full refund minus a cancellation fee of USD $50.

If you cancel your reservation less than 24 Hours before your specified pick-up time, you will receive a full refund minus a cancellation fee of USD $100.

Please contact 911 before contacting Cars of America if you or another person is hurt or in danger. Even if there are no injuries, Cars of America asks that you contact the police department to report the accident. The name of the police officer, the investigating department (city, county, or state police), the phone number, and the Police Report number are all required.

Once the police have been contacted, please contact Cars of America at 1-832-774-1004 so we can generate a preliminary accident report for you and review your options for an exchange vehicle if necessary. If the vehicle is being towed, please make sure to tell the tow truck driver and police officer that the vehicle belongs to Cars of America. DO NOT offer your permission for any repairs on a Cars of America vehicle.

Prior to returning the vehicle, a complete vehicle incident report must be filed. You can download and print the vehicle incident report form here.

The renter of the vehicle is held responsible for any damage to a rental car, including theft, natural disaster, vandalism, and more.

If your rental car is damaged, please complete the following steps:

  • Contact Cars of America at 1-832-774-1004
  • Fill out a Cars of America Incident Report
  • Call your auto insurance company to create a claim
  • Check with your credit card company to see if their collision program offers coverage

 

If the vehicle is being towed, please make sure to tell the tow truck driver and police officer that the vehicle belongs to Cars of America. DO NOT offer your permission for any repairs on a Cars of America vehicle.

There are a variety of situations that are considered rental car damage, including but not limited to: 

  • Rollover
  • Collision
  • Tire damage
  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Fire
  • Natural disasters (Ex: Flood, Hail)
  • Damage resulting in the need for medical attention

Alterations to your initial rental car reservation will result in a different or higher rental rate.

Variable daily rate will be charged on the return unless prior arrangement was made with Cars of America.

Please call/contact Cars of America to discuss extension of your rental contract.

No, pets are not allowed in rental cars. Cars of America maintains a fleet of 100 pet-free vehicles. If the pet-free policy is violated, a cleaning fee of up to $450 may be added to the rental price.

No, smoking is not allowed in rental cars. Cars of America maintains a fleet of 100 percent smoke-free vehicles. If the non-smoking policy is violated, a cleaning fee of up to $450 may be added to the rental price.

You must be at least 21 years old to rent a car in Texas.
